I am cycling across the country from San Diego to St. Augustine. This is my blog, please enjoy it. In conjunction with the ride, I am raising money for the Komen Breast Cancer Fund. Please consider donating by copying this link into your browser: Thanks!

May 12, Day 52, riding day 45, 58 miles, 2,731.1 miles cuml, about 308 miles to finish.

We rode almost 60 miles from Marianna, FL to Midway, FL today, through rolling farmlands and marshes. We crossed into Eastern Time Zone today just before Chatahoochee. The time zone runs down the Georgia Alabama border and then crosses Florida at the Appalachacola River. Some of the group popped into Georgia, just over the border from Chatahoochee. We are staying about 15 miles west of Tallahassee. We ranged from about 75 feet of elevation to nearly 300 feet today, with a couple of unexpected 150 foot climbs. We are staying at a motel tonight, Howard Johnsons, and the air conditioning is nice!

There are five days to go until the Atlantic.

ps. Phil sold his tent (new before the trip) to Janet (whose husband and son are joining us for the last three days) and stated "I never want to see that tent again..." so he is flying home a bit lighter. He also bequeathed his folding captain's chair to Jerry, who will use it going back west on his return transam route. I have a few items that should be burned or trashed at the end of the trip also.
