May 14, Day 54, riding day 47, 5 miles E of Waukeenah, FL to Suwanee, FL, 68.5 miles, 2,850.8 miles cuml, about 190 miles to finish
Today we rode about 68 miles across the mid-section of the northern part of Florida, mostly flat, with cloudy 80-90 degree riding. We ended at the Suwannee Music resort rv park and campground, which is a host to large musical events. This is the Suwannee from Way Down Upon the Suwannee River. We have three (3) days to go to the Atlantic and we are all looking forward to dipping our wheels into the ocean.
One or more unindicted co-conspiritors added a Florida "Eat My Dust" mini license plate to my bike last night and I am still laughing.
We went through Lee, Florida, so there is a picture of Lee with the sign, "little but proud."
And the coffee shop in Monticello, FL was StarDucks. By the way, I have not seen a real Starbucks since Austin, TX, about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Perhaps that is because ACA runs us away from cities, but it is unusual to go that long without a fix.
