Today we had a sunny ride finishing off Louisiana on bikes. I only had 2 dog chases today. Phil and I rode together for about 2/3 of the way, and then he took the standard route and I took the direct route which was about 4 miles shorter.
We finally crossed into Mississippi, our sixth state, just east of Bogulusa, LA crossing the Pearl River. Bogulusa is not worth a second visit as it is a very depressed town.
I got in at 1:10 pm after having another large root beer float at Sonic (about my 10th of the trip), and others started arriving at 3 pm. Phil had 3 flats which accounted for some of the lag. Jerry and Eli arrived soon thereafter There were a lot of difficult directions so I think a lot of riders may have made wrong turns. Sharon arrived at about 445pm reporting she rode about 110 miles due to a wrong turn. Luke, Rita, and Becky arrived at 5:05 pm, and the rest arrived just after that. We were able to use the 44 ft. high water slide at the rv resort and had a fine time as it was about 80 degrees. After that, we had a fine barbeque of burgers, chicken and dogs.
