April 14, Day 24, riding day 21, Marathon TX to Sanderson TX, 55.1 miles, 1,241 miles cuml

Today we left a bleak Marathon Tx to a bleaker Sanderson, TX. I've had enough of west Texas but it goes on and on and on. And on. We got a (free) "Don't mess with Texas" bumber sticker and slapped it on the Montana-licensed ACA van. That was the fun part of the day. We rode mostly into headwinds, starting with fog and then rain. It was not a very fun ride but we have to have some downer days to go with the great ones. Leader Lee did a great job and sprang? for motel rooms tonight to avoid the wind and rain and be better prepared for tomorrow's 80+ mile trek to near Del Rio, with a similar unfavorable weather forecast predicted.

The picture is Kendal Mint Cake, our border collie.
